Vanessa Aggrey (UKCP) is the founder of Vanessa Aggrey Counselling and Psychotherapy and Serenity Balance Ltd. She holds a Masters degree in TA Psychotherapy and is both UKCP and BACP registered. She is also an approved and recognised health care provider of AXA PPP, Vitality and Aviva. She has over 2 decades of experience in the public and private sector, working with individuals and families, supporting them in making positive changes in their lives. She has over 12 years’ experience of providing counselling and other therapies, with individuals (adults, children & young people) and groups.

 

Throughout her career, she has worked with a variety of clients with different mental health issues, addictions and challenges. Vanessa is passionate about treating all people with a personalized approach, as she believes that the relationship that the client has with the practitioner has the potential of creating a new narrative with different meanings, which can help them to work through their difficulties. Her training in Relational Transactional Analysis focuses on personal development, treatment of oneself and how we relate and communicate with others. She describes herself as an integrative practitioner as elements of psychoanalytic, humanistic and cognitive approaches are integrated into her work.

 

The main focus of her professional practice holds in mind the central philosophy of Transactional Analysis, (Berne, 1961) which is that people are capable of change and that we all have a right to be in the world and be to accepted.
